Healing begins when you stop chasing and start listening
holistic health practitioner, educator, and founder of Hemma Wellbeing
I help overwhelmed women come home to themselves through intentional self-care and seasonal living. With over 18 years of experience in massage therapy, therapeutic yoga, abdominal therapies, and herbal medicine, my work is rooted in both professional expertise and personal transformation.
My healing journey began as a teenager, when I was diagnosed with depression and told medication was my only path forward. But deep down, I knew there had to be more — a deeper kind of healing that went beyond symptom management and tapped into something more intuitive, embodied, and sustainable. That knowing led me to explore practices that helped me reconnect with myself — and eventually, share that healing with others.
Over the years, life has offered me its own wisdom through cycles of burnout, rebuilding, and becoming. One of the most humbling chapters came when I gave birth during the pandemic. It didn’t go as planned — and that experience cracked me open. It showed me just how much pressure we carry to do things “right,” and how easy it is to compare our paths to others. But healing, like birth, is rarely linear. It requires presence, self-trust, and a willingness to release the illusion of control.
That experience became a turning point — and a deepening of my mission. I now know that healing isn’t about fixing yourself or following a perfect routine. It’s about learning how to tune into your own rhythms, how to befriend the season you're in, and how to care for yourself from a place of compassion instead of comparison.
And here’s the part I think we don’t talk about enough: healing should also be joyful. It should include laughter, lightness, and moments that make you feel truly alive. At Hemma, I believe in the power of play, rest, receiving love, and not taking yourself too seriously. We’re not here to perform wellness — we’re here to actually live it, in a way that feels good and deeply human.
That’s what Hemma Wellbeing is all about. Hemma is a Scandinavian word that means at home, and it reflects everything I believe: that true wellness helps you feel at home in your body, your life, and your choices — no matter what season you're in.
Whether you’re navigating motherhood, moving through a major life transition, or just feeling stretched too thin, my hope is that this space helps you slow down, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and remember that you are your own wisest guide.
Welcome home.
